I specialise in English fluency and SAT Reading, Writing, and Language skills. I currently work with Grades 11–12 and undergraduate students, supporting grammar, academic writing, comprehension, and test-day strategy.

I use inquiry-based teaching alongside exam preparation. Instead of immediately correcting an answer, I often ask the student why they chose a particular word, structure, or interpretation. For Cambridge and IELTS preparation, I use the relevant assessment criteria, question types, and past-paper tasks so students become familiar with what is expected. For Secondary English, I put more emphasis on building the underlying language skills first.

I hold an MPhil in English and am a Gold Medalist from the University of the Punjab, with a BS (Hons.) in English Literature from Forman Christian College, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude. As a Lecturer, I teach English Literature courses at the university level. I also tutor students following IB, O Level, and A Level curricula, helping them develop close-reading, essay-writing, critical-thinking, and literary analysis skills.

I have been tutoring English since 2024 and achieved an A in O-Level English myself. My English students typically achieve A or B grades in their O-Level examinations. I enjoy working with different kinds of texts, including stories, news reports, letters, diary entries, and documentaries. My experience has also shown me how useful it is to combine reading and writing rather than teaching the two separately.

For younger learners I use activities to keep lessons active, but with Secondary students I usually start with the concept and then move into past-paper practice. I like bringing different kinds of texts into lessons because it gives students more opportunities to discuss tone, purpose, audience and language. When we work on writing, I focus on helping students understand why a particular structure or word choice works rather than simply correcting their sentences.

I hold a Bachelors (Honors) in English from the National University of Modern Languages, Islamabad, and an MPhil in English Literature from Punjab University, Lahore. I began my teaching career as a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, where I taught undergraduate literature courses. Later, I joined a Postgraduate College, delivering a range of courses of both linguistics and literature to graduate-level students. My expertise includes literary analysis, critical theory, and English grammar, enabling me to teach a diverse curriculum. Over the years, my students have consistently performed well, with all successfully completing their degrees.
